LaVerne Black Doll House

LaVerne Black collected over 200 dolls. She was a long-time member of the Historical Society. She lived to 105 and collected dolls for 90 years.

Pretty soon, her husband Bob, made these cases to house them. Her first dolls were bisque “nickle dolls” from Wiebolt’s.

Later, she went to doll shows and met Betty Schreiner who made replicas of antique porcelain dolls.

Every kind of doll became part of her collection.
