This car was built by Al “Red” Jenkins for the Grundy County Corn Festival. He was a diesel mechanic for Douglas Equipment, Braidwood. The car was used many times during the 1970s. Red’s son, Jeff, was the first to drive it, then his grandson, Dylan. It was also raced by Boy Scout Troop #469. It was used over and over for 10 years. All grade school students were eligible for the Cracker Box Derby. This car was part of the “plastic wheel class.”
