Hoge Cradle

This cradle was made for the “first white child born in Grundy County” James B. Hoge, second son of William Hoge, born May 1834. Donated by Virginia Schmult who found it in the attic of the barn at the Holderman homestead. Mary Hoge also used this cradle for her children—including S.D. Holderman. Her grandson, S.J.  Holderman used to loan this cradle for display at community events.
