Here is a visual sequence of the progress we have made at writing things down. Starting with quill pens, slates and soap stone pencils used by students in the earliest country schools, a pen and pencil set which was once the standard grade school graduation gift,  hand written documents from the Grundy County Court House, several manual typewriters given by various businesses and finally an I-Pad that died
