1907(56 years old)Dora and her husband move to Evergreen Street, Boyle Heights, Los Angeles.
  They become members of the Euclid Heights Methodist Episcopal Church.
1909(58 years old)November: The 35th-anniversary commemorative event is held for Aoyama Jyogakuin, but Dora could not send a message due to her husband’s illness.
1911(60 years old)April: Dora’s husband, Henry, dies at age 61.
  Julius Soper and his wife leave Japan and move to Glendale, a suburb of Los Angeles.
1912(61 years old)Dora’s former colleague, Mary Holbrook (now Mrs. Chappell), dies in Tokyo.
1913(62 years old)More Japanese move to Boyle Heights.
1914(63 years old)Dora’s former colleague, Olive Whiting (now Mrs. Bishop), dies in Tokyo.
  November: Dora sends a congratulatory address for the 40th-anniversary commemorative event for Aoyama Jyogakuin.
1916(65 years old)Jennie Willing, Dora’s mentor, dies in New York.
  Dora moves from Evergreen Street to a small house on Euclid Avenue.
1921(70 years old)December: Chiyo Kozaki and her husband visit Dora’s home (Euclid Avenue) and reunite after 43 years. Chiyo gives a lecture in Los Angeles.
1925-1926(74-75 years old)Dora leads mite box activities and the missionary group at Euclid Heights Methodist Episcopal Church.
1927(76 years old)Mary Soper, Julius Soper’s wife, dies in Glendale.
1928(77 years old)Brother Moncena dies. He is buried in the Crete Cemetery.
  July 16: Dora attends the Aoyama Alumni Meeting, which is held in Los Angeles.
  Winter: Dora catches a cold, falls, and breaks her wrist.
1929(78 years old)May: Dora sends a letter to Chiyo Kozaki from her home on Oregon Street.
  (On October 24, the Great Depression ends with Black Thursday.)
1934(83 years old)November: The 60th-anniversary commemorative event is held for Aoyama Jogakuin.
  November: Dora’s article, “A Message Out of the past to WMF” is published in WMF.
  December 5: Dora dies. She is buried in the Los Angeles Odd Fellows Cemetery.
    
    
1935 February: An obituary notice is published in WMF.
1936 July: Dora’s obituary is printed in the alumni newsletter by Chiyo Kozaki.
1960 November: Dora is given a certificate of merit by the Association for Japan-United States Amity and Trade Centennial. Aoyama Gakuin takes ownership of the certificate.
1966 The female dorm at Aoyama Gakuin University is named the Schoonmaker Dorm.
1990 November: A ceremony to erect Dora and Henry’s tombstone is held. Dora and Henry’s grave are moved, and a new tombstone for both is completed.
1995 November: A relief of Dora is erected for the 120th anniversary in front of the administration building of Aoyama Gakuin in Tokyo.
